An Update

August 26th, 2008

Here’s a quick rundown on some of the hats I’ve blogged about recently.

Selke - The Selke Original hat has arrived and is ready to ship out so don’t delay. Order now.

Lillie & Cohoe - The first delivery has been selling like crazy. In fact, the Jackie and Newscap have already sold out and the Prince Oscar has only one left. Fortunately, there is another shipment leaving Canada this week so we should have more shortly. You can still order these caps and be guaranteed one from the new shipment due in the next couple weeks.

Stefeno Military - This cap quickly sold out of most sizes but has already been re-stocked so order away.

We have new styles for fall arriving every week so be sure to keep checking back.

If you like wearing Newsboy caps but want something a little different then check out the Stefeno Herringbone Newsboy Cap. This cap has a longer bill (about 2 1/2″), a cotton lining and great detail on the back of the cap.

If you like this style of Newsboy cap then you’ll want to also check out the Stefeno Gregg Newsboy cap which is very similar but available in a solid black and brown. All of these caps are available in sizes small through XXL.

Selke Hats

August 15th, 2008

A while back I made mention of a brand of hats that we were working on importing. We have finally worked everything out and can say I am very happy to announce that Aaron Hats is now importing Selke Hats from New Zealand. Currently, Aaron Hats is the only store in the USA to carry Selke Hats. The first model we will be carrying the Selke Original as shown here:

Original Selke Hat

Selke is a small, family run business that was started in 1973. They select only the finest materials and their craftsmanship could be considered “old school”. The Selke name is less known here in the states than it is in the global community but I expect that will change in the coming years. In fact, I hadn’t heard of them until I met our new parish priest and he mentioned that he has two Selke hats and they were his favorite fishing hats.

Though we are starting with one style you should keep checking back as we will be growing our collection of Selke hats in the coming weeks and months. We expect to have our first delivery by August 22nd but you can order now and be guaranteed one of these great Selke hats.

Military Caps

August 9th, 2008

The Military style cap continues to grow in popularity for both men and women. In the past I’ve always including the Military cap in either the ballcap category or the ivy and newsboy group. Well, I finally broke down and created it’s own Military Cap category.

Here’s an example of our newest Military caps, the Stefeno Military, and best of all it’s actually sized up to XXL size.

Bailey Gunman

August 7th, 2008

If you’re a hunter or enjoy sporting clays, skeet or trap shooting this hat is for you. The Bailey Gunman is a crushable wool felt that feels more like a fur felt it’s so soft. It has a leather hat band and the emblem on the side is of a shotgunner. I like the style because it’s not really western but not dressy like a traditional fedora either. Check it out and let me know what you think:

This Week’s New Arrivals

August 4th, 2008

Charlie 1 Horse

August 2nd, 2008

Another new arrival notice. This one is the Charlie 1 Horse Night Rider. It’s a black straw cowboy hat with a 3 1/2″ brim. We decided to stock this at a customer request. I didn’t order a lot of them but just in the last few days since it arrived we have already sold half the hats we got.

This is a perfect example of a customer who kept asking for a particular hat and now we’ll stock it because it has quickly turned into a good seller.

Keep the requests coming,

Lillie & Cohoe Women’s Hats

July 31st, 2008

It’s hard to believe tomorrow is already August first. It seems that I was looking forward to summer for so long and now we’re nearing the end of summer and the kids will be going back to school soon. On the good side, this means we’re starting to receive the first of our fall and winter hats.

Last year, we decided to not stock women’s hats by Lillie & Cohoe and opted for a more well known brand. What a mistake that was! I’m very happy to report that Lillie & Cohoe is back at Aaron Hats. If you’re not familiar with the brand, they are a woman owned company designing women’s hats by women. We have two deliveries scheduled for the fall/winter season. The first is on it’s way from Canada and should arrive in the next one to two weeks. The second will be arriving towards the end of September.

Take a peek at a couple samples:
