New Tilley Hats for Fall’09
July 7th, 2009We just got a preview of the new Tilley hats for Fall 2009 and thought you’d be interested in seeing one of them. This is the new Tilley Montana Hat:
The Montana is made of 100% wool felt that’s been treated for rain, snow and stain repellency. It has a pinched crown and downward sloping stitched brim. The brim is 3″ wide front and back and 2 3/4″ on the sides. The Montana hat is fully lined with a Hydrofil polyester to keep you warm and dry plus it has a hidden secret pocket and tuckaway ear warmers. Of course, no Tilley hat would be complete without the famous lifetime guarantee.

Rain, Rain, Go Away
June 19th, 2009It seems like it’s been raining for 40 days and 40 nights. Maybe it’s not that bad but we’ve had a lot of rain. What better reason for a new hat though? Here are my top three picks for a new rain hat:
- Any Tilley hat is perfect. You can’t go wrong with a hat that’s guaranteed for life, insured against loss and machine washable.
- The Betmar Quilted Bucket for women. A cute little bucket hat made to withstand the rain and be stylish.
- The Kangol Rain Coniston ivy cap. Ivy caps are so popular right now why not pick one that’s already treated for the rain.

Stetson & Resistol Hats
June 16th, 2009Today could be your lucky day. I just marked down all Resistol and Stetson western hats at least 20% off. We’re discontinuing a lot of the styles we currently carry so you could get lucky and get a great hat at a great price.
How’s that for short and sweet.
Bike Week
June 15th, 2009Bike Week is here in full swing despite today’s rain. The weather is looking up for the next few days with lots to do. A lot of the action happens around Weirs Beach but for some of the best riding you’ll want to head up to North Conway and beyond. Check out the MWV Chamber of Commerce for detailed info on all the happenings this week.
We had a busy weekend here in the store thanks to all our biking customers. So many people try to stereotype the biker but trust me, you can’t do that at least when it comes to the hats they’re buying and wearing. This weekend we sold a lot of Tilley hats, Kangol hats, Stetson hats and even some fedoras.
Ride on…
Back To 7 Days
June 11th, 2009We’re officially back to being open seven days a week for our summer tourist schedule. We still won’t be open very late but that will change in a couple weeks when things really get busy around here. I’ll be updating our hours of operation on the web site but thought I’d post them here:
Retail store hours:
- Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm
- Saturday, 10am-6pm
- Sunday, 10am-4pm
Telephone support hours:
- Same as above except closed Wednesday and Sunday
- Saturday phone support may be limited if the store is really busy
I’ll post again when the hours change in a couple weeks.
Ladies Dress Hats On Sale
June 8th, 2009Good Monday to you,
Since all the big horse races have been run already, I decided to mark down some of our fancy ladies dress hats. There are a few on our Special Deals page including the Betmar Jane and Plaza Suite Bridgette to name just a couple. On this same Special Deals category of our web site you’ll find some miscellaneous western hats and fedoras marked down. Who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and find a bargain hat just your size.
Join the Kangol Army
June 5th, 2009The Kangol Army Cap is selling so fast you’d think people were running to sign up for the next revolution. The cap is available in eight colors and made of cotton twill so it’s perfect for the summer weather. It also has a Flexfit band inside so you know it’ll hug your noggin just right. What do you say…ready for the revolution?
Another Hat Store Closes
June 4th, 2009Unfortunately, another hat store and small business has closed. Arnold Hatters of New York has closed it’s doors after nearly 50 years in business. I’m always saddened when a small business closes and especially a hat store. My opinion is that the more hat stores there are the more people will get to see the variety of hats available and the more likely they’ll be to become a regular hat wearer.
Web Site is back
June 3rd, 2009For the last 24-36 hours our primary web site, www.GetaHatOn.com, has been down due to technical problems. I am happy to report that after hours of work the site is back up and running waiting to take your orders.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.
Aaron
