It sure would. I wouldn't call this a "waterproof" treatment but would certainly make any hat or cap water resistant.

Do you think this would work on my Stefeno Newsboy cap? I would like to be able to wear it in inclement weather.

I wouldn't think that would be a problem as most felt hats already have some type of stiffener from the factory.

Hmm, a good idea. Can the waterproofing spray still work OK if you have treated a felt hat with a stiffener spray?

I wonder if the chemicals would react strangely.

Hi Jeff,

It only takes one to get hooked. Welcome to the club.

The Reilly seems like a lifetime ago. Fond memories though.

I am Aaron's sister-in-law and hate to say this is the first time I have read his blog. I enjoyed it and will visit the site more often.

I have spent many a days with Aaron and his lovely wife enjoying the great fall, winter, spring and summer weather in the area. I always, always make a stop at the store and can't help but leave with something, even if it's a hat for my grandaughter. I hang all my hats on nice hooks on my porch so that I can enjoy looking at them all year round. I always have my Tilly in the car because you never know when I'll need that one.

Looking forward to my next trip up north for a wonderful relaxing time
with my family and friends.
