Cavanagh Hats

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

We just got some great new additions to our Cavanagh line of hats and caps. We had the Cavanagh Safari hat last year and just got it back in. The nice thing about the Safari is you don’t find a lot of casual or safari style fedoras in a charcoal grey color. I don’t know why but you don’t, so this certainly fills a void in that arena. Another new item is the Cavanagh Wool Plaid Prego. This is a really nice ivy cap. I wear a size 7 1/2, that’s an XL for you hat novices, and sometimes on caps they aren’t cut deep enough for me. This one fits great. We have it in a grey or olive plaid and with the double snap on the brim it’s a sharp cap and may just be added to my personal collection. Check ‘em out:

Kangol Is Timeless Style

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

According to Golf Digest, the white Kangol 504 Ventair is one of the pieces of a golfers wardrobe that is timeless. In other words, every golfer should own one. Of course, I’ve known this for quite a while. Most people know the stereotype that women are into non-stop fashion and shopping. In my experience, male golfers can be just as bad…or is it just as good? It’s not unusual for a man to come into the store, or shop online, and buy six, eight or ten different colors of the Kangol 504 Ventair to match all of his different golf shirts. After all, if you look good you’ll play a better round of golf.

It’s too bad though that Golf Digest refers their readers directly to Kangol instead of Aaron Hats. If you shop at Aaron Hats for this cap you’ll save $4 per cap. If you’re on the convervative side and only buy three colors (of the over 20 colors available) we would save you $12. That’s like getting free shipping and a discount on your Kangol caps.

Selke Hats

Friday, August 15th, 2008

A while back I made mention of a brand of hats that we were working on importing. We have finally worked everything out and can say I am very happy to announce that Aaron Hats is now importing Selke Hats from New Zealand. Currently, Aaron Hats is the only store in the USA to carry Selke Hats. The first model we will be carrying the Selke Original as shown here:

Original Selke Hat

Selke is a small, family run business that was started in 1973. They select only the finest materials and their craftsmanship could be considered “old school”. The Selke name is less known here in the states than it is in the global community but I expect that will change in the coming years. In fact, I hadn’t heard of them until I met our new parish priest and he mentioned that he has two Selke hats and they were his favorite fishing hats.

Though we are starting with one style you should keep checking back as we will be growing our collection of Selke hats in the coming weeks and months. We expect to have our first delivery by August 22nd but you can order now and be guaranteed one of these great Selke hats.

Bailey Gunman

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

If you’re a hunter or enjoy sporting clays, skeet or trap shooting this hat is for you. The Bailey Gunman is a crushable wool felt that feels more like a fur felt it’s so soft. It has a leather hat band and the emblem on the side is of a shotgunner. I like the style because it’s not really western but not dressy like a traditional fedora either. Check it out and let me know what you think:

New Stetson Fedora

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Arrived just today is the new Stetson Tehachapi Loop fedora. I have to admit that I wasn’t immediately crazy about this hat but now that I’ve tried it on and been admiring it for a couple hours I really like it. If somebody doesn’t buy the 7 1/2 I might have to take it for myself. This hat is really about the details…check out the embroidered lining and the great ribbon used. I think you’ll agree it’s a sharp fedora.
