Skin Cancer Awareness Month
If you’re a regular reader of this blog you know that I frequently talk about skin cancer and proper sun protection. Since today is May first, I thought I’d remind everyone that May is Skin Cancer Awareness month. Even though we haven’t hit summer temps here in the White Mountains we have already seen the seasonal increase in customers asking for hats with certified sun protection. Once summer hits we will have customers walk into the store almost every single day who have had a scare with skin cancer. Skin cancer is one of the most preventable cancers and it doesn’t take a lot of effort. All you need to do is limit your exposure to the sun during the peak afternoon hours, wear the right clothing and wear a proper sun hat.
A customer favorite for women is the Scala LC399 Sun Hat which is available in over a dozen colors:
A customer favorite for men is the Tilley LTM5:
Any hat will provide a certain amount of sun protection but the wider the brim the more protection you will receive. Check out our hats for sun protection category for some great hats with certified UV protection.
Get a sun hat on,
