How Do You Say Hat?
Hats have been around for centuries in countless cultures. With some hat styles you automatically conjure up a picture of a particular country. As an example, the beret probably makes you think of France or a fisherman’s cap may remind you of Greece. Each of these countries has their own way of saying hat as shown here:
Spanish - sombrero
French - chapeau
German - hut
Italian - cappello
Dutch - de hord
Portuguese - chapeu
Norwegian - hatt

Good list! You can add ‘Kofia’ to that list. That’s Swahili for hat.
As a recent hat purchaser and a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, I look forward to reading more of your blog. But I sure wish I didn’t miss that one day sale!!
Cheers,

Also as a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria, I bumped into a “Shopka” -Bulgarian for hat, and a “bombe”- bulgarian for fedora. Now when the family and I go back during the summers I show off my Tilley “shopka” purchased from Aaron hats. Good blog.
