We’re Back Baby!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

We’re back baby! It’s been a rough couple weeks but we’re back to business. A couple weeks ago we made a major upgrade to our shopping cart software and changed hosts as the same time. Nothing major went wrong but lots of little kinks to work out and I’m glad to say we only have a couple left to iron out.

Some of the new features of our new and improved web site include the ability to create your own account and add hats to your “Wish List”. This is a great feature because when you’re ready to buy you don’t need to go searching to find that hats you like. All you need to do is log in to your account and presto. Another feature is the ability for us to add nearly unlimited pictures of the same product. So as we add new products you’ll be able to see pictures of the front, side, lining, etc of each hat. Those are just a couple of the many new features we have turned on and there are many more to come so stay tuned.

Thank you for your patience during this process. As usual, all of us at Aaron Hats look forward to serving all of your headwear needs, wants and desires.

Cheers,

Aaron (& gang)

Is hats being banned the future?

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

With the recent start of the school year there seems to be a lot of news about schools banning students from wearing hats. At first thought you’d think this is a bad thing for a hat store. Maybe not. It may have been a few years since I was a teenager in high school but I still remember wanting the forbidden. Unfortunately, that got me into trouble sometimes. So if schools are banning hats, thus making them “the forbidden”, does that make them more desirable? I think so. Do you?

Welcome Helen Kaminski

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Aaron Hats is proud to welcome the Helen Kaminski brand to our growing hat collection. The Helen Kaminski brand is known around the world as one of the finest lines of womens headwear. With styles that include ivy caps, bucket hats, cloches, wide brimmed sun hats and even western hats Helen Kaminski has a style for every woman. Aaron Hats will have certain styles in the store but will offer the entire collection via our web site, www.GetaHatOn.com.

Here’s a brief background about Helen Kaminski:

Helen Kaminski Pty Ltd designs a diverse range of fashion and lifestyle products. Based in Sydney, Australia, the company founder Helen Kaminski, designed her first raffia hat, the ‘Classic’, in the early 1980’s to protect her children from the strong Australian sun. Helen chose raffia as it is a perfect natural fibre for use in traditional handcraft due to a natural resin that enables the fibre to remain strong and flexible over time.

As the demand for her product grew, Helen developed a workshop facility on the remote island of Madagascar where the highest quality raffia grows. In Madagascar, raffia is harvested ecologically so that the raffia palm tree is unharmed. The original workshop now employs hundreds of craftspeople trained in our unique raffia treatment and crochet methods. These highly skilled and dedicated individuals create products exclusively for Helen Kaminski.

For a limited time, we are offering free shipping on all Helen Kaminski hats.

More Kids Hats

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

To go along with my last post about the children’s ivy caps we’ve recently re-introduced a collection of fun hats for kids…and a few adults who still act like kids. These fun hats are by a company named ELOPE which stands for Everybody Laughing On Planet Earth. Here’s a little background info about ELOPE and some sample pictures:

In 1988, two imaginative brothers embarked on a journey to the far corners of planet earth. As they went they collected and designed hats that made everybody laugh.

In 1993 elope (Everybody’s Laughing On Planet Earth) was formed. Their mission: to make the highest quality, eclectic assortment of hats and products imaginable while offering superior customer service.

Today, over a decade later, elope is a diverse team of like-minded thinkers. They are a socially responsible business, dedicated to fair trade and community service. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you!
