Aaron Hats Sponsors Barrel Racing World Champion

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Aaron Hats is extremely proud to be a sponsor of Jocelyn Britton, the 2006 NBHA Teen 4D World Champion.

I met Jocelyn about a year and a half ago when she came into our North Conway store. We got to talking and found out about her love of barrel racing. Since I was a little kid I’ve always found horses, and anything western, to be right up my alley. So when Jocelyn asked us if we’d be interested in sponsoring her we jumped at the chance. In this day and age, when you have a young lady so enthusiastic and committed to a wholesome activity such as barrel racing how can you not help her pursue that dream.

In conjunction with Bailey Western Hats, Aaron Hats is providing Jocelyn a new Bailey 5X fur felt western hat and cash to allow her to travel to competitions around the USA and Canada.

Take a look at Jocelyn in action wearing one of her Bailey western hats.

All of us here at Aaron Hats wish to congratulate Jocelyn on her Championship and wish her much future success. I’m sure she’ll be in the winners circle once again.

Gidde up,

Aaron

Tilley Hats

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

Continuing with our last post on sun protective hats, today I’d like to talk about hats by a Canadian company called Tilley Endurables. Founded in 1980, this company has created an almost cult-like following of customers. Tilley makes everything for the traveler including socks, undergarments, shirts, shorts, skirts and of course hats. Actually, hats is where it all started for Mr. Tilley. I have yet to find another hat company offering these features and guarantees on a hat:

- Guaranteed for life

- Insured against loss (2 years)

- Certified sun protection

- Repels rain

- Ties on in the wind

- Machine washable (won’t shrink)

Many of the Tilley hat styles are unisex and it’s not unusual for a husband and wife to walk into Aaron Hats and both walk out wearing their new Tilley hats. There are also some styles that are specifically for those women who like a little more femininity in their headwear.

Take a closer look at some of these great hats.

Sun Protective Hats

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

This blog is meant to be light-hearted and fun but occasionally we need to discuss something serious. This time of year, we all think about heading out to ball games, beaches, fishing and a number of other fun outdoor activities. Before you step out to enjoy these fun days be sure to think about what you’re doing to protect yourself from the dangers of the sun.

Here’s an excerpt from a press release we issue every year:

According to the Center for Disease Control, skin cancer prevention is not to be taken lightly. The center published this statement on their website (www.cdc.gov): “Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays appears to be the most important environmental factor involved in the development of skin cancer. When used consistently, sun-protective practices can prevent skin cancer.”

Although wearing a high-SPF sunscreen that protects from UV rays is vitally important, the CDC also stresses it’s imperative to: “Get a hat. Hats that shade the face, scalp, ears, and neck are easy to use and give great protection.”

You can find the full article at http://www.aaronhats.com/pr_5-06.php.

Two companies that make comfortable, stylish hats with certified UV protection are Tilley Endurables and Sunday Afternoons.

So get out there and enjoy the great outdoors but do it safely because we want you to live a long, healthy life.

New Era and Major League Baseball

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

It’s May 9th and baseball season is well underway. In every small town and big city across the country, kids are heading to the ball fields to do their best and be like the big boys in Major League Baseball.

The tradition of getting a new baseball cap each spring is as American as the baseball game itself. This year, New Era has created another great baseball cap for Major League Baseball. The 2007 New Era Batting Practice Cap is incredibly comfortable, is made of a fabric that has vapor management, superior drying and is shrink resistant. The cap is available in three different sizes and has the MLB logo on the back.

Even though the Boston Red Sox are the only team that really count here are a couple examples of the 2007 New Era Batting Practice Cap.

O Magazine

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Day 2 of the new blog. Isn’t this exciting? Well, maybe not as exciting as if Stetson were to bring back the classic Stratoliner fedora but still exciting for all of us here at Aaron Hats.

I think nearly every person on planet Earth knows the Oprah name and her O Magazine. In the May ‘07 issue, one of her “favorite things” is this great ladies visor by Scala.

Scala Visor

For those that don’t know, Scala is a brand of Dorfman Pacific. Here’s a snip from their web site about the companies long history in the hat business:

Dorfman Pacific prides itself in being one of the largest full-line, in-stock headwear and handbag company in the world. Our company began in 1921 as Dorfman Hat &
Cap Company in a 5,000 square foot facility in Oakland, California, and recently celebrated its 80th year in business at our 275,000 square foot facility in Stockton, California.

Have a great day made even better with a hat on.
